Adam, a film following the love life of a man with Asperger’s doesn’t exactly sound like the next Little Miss Sunshine, until you take into account that it is a love story. Ok, maybe not the next Little Miss Sunshine, but maybe the next Once. HR reports that Fox Searchlight is in the process of buying the film.

Quite a few distributors were interested. The movie stars Hugh Dancy (Evening), as the autistic man and Rose Byrne (Wicker Park) as his love interest. The film was written by newb, Max Mayer. Although Adam wasn’t exactly considered a big contender coming into the festival, it obviously impressed enough people to be one of the first purchases.

Of course, last year Fox Searchlight bought up Choke, which never blew up or garnered good reviews, so who knows how Adam will turn out.
