Fox Searchlight Reuniting With Little Miss Sunshine Directors For Their Next Film

Valerie Faris and Jonathan Dayton's upcoming project He Loves Me was already set to be a Little Miss Sunshine reunion, as the pair would once again be directing Paul Dano in a lead role, after he truly broke out playing the sullen, silent brother in Little Miss Sunshine in 2006. Now the reunion is really complete-- Deadline reports that Fox Searchlight is set to distribute this new film, from the directors whose last effort netted $100 million worldwide and helped define Fox Searchlight as a studio that distributes a certain kind of sunny, quirky indie.

He Loves Me looks to have its share of quirk as well. Dano stars as a writer struggling for inspiration who writes about his dream woman and somehow wills her into existence. His real-life girlfriend Zoe Kazan will play the woman and also wrote the script, indicating the story is a lot more substantial than some kind of Weird Science retread. They're also courting Jeff Bridges for another role in the film, indicating this could have an equally starry and impressive cast as, well, Little Miss Sunshine. He Loves Me goes into production in July, meaning Faris and Dayton could finally have another movie in theaters as early as next year.
