Jamie Foxx, fresh out of the Middle East in Jar Head, is headed back in one of his upcoming projects, The Kingdom. Peter Berg, who co-starred with Foxx in Collateral and also directed Friday Night Lights, will direct.

According to Empire Online, the story is about an expert in anti-terrorism who is sent to hunt out and destory a group of terrorists responsible for a series of bombings behind the deaths of Americans in the area. Complications will purportedly include bureaucracy, local cultural traditions and death threats. No word yet whether nosey, pessimistic CNN on-the-scene reporters will also be among the snags they encounter.

Matthew Michael Carnahan, whose previous writing credits are few and little known, is currently writing the script based on the concept developed by Berg and Michael Mann.
