Frank Miller had success co-directing Sin City, and of course the adaptation of his comic 300 made a zillion dollars. So Lionsgate has given him a shot at directing something solo, and he’s chosen to do an adaptation of the ancient Will Eisner comic The Spirit.
The film’s official site has launched here, and it comes with a video introduction by Frank Miller himself. He talks mostly about Eisner, who he knew as a mentor, and then engages in the usual cast and crew ass kissing every director is required to do even if he’s working with a gang of thieves.
The site also promises more to come. There’s a spot for news from the set and production blogs. For now, it’s all “coming soon”. But to watch Frank’s video intro, click over there, and after the thunder stops click on “A Greeting From Writer – Director Frank Miller”.
