Freddie Highmore Is All Grown Up In The First Trailer For The Art Of Getting By![]()
It seems like it was just yesterday that Freddie Highmore burst on to the scene as the tiny, little British kid in Finding Neverland and Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The truth is that was six years ago and that's quite a lot when you are going from 13 to 19. Just look at the first trailer for The Art of Getting By (formally known as Homework) and you'll see what I mean.
Posted by MTV, the movie is about George Zinavoy (Highmore), a misfit teenager who doesn't care about school and prefers to live in his own little world, which largely consists of doodling in his notebook and skipping class. One day, however, he discovers Sally Howe, (Emma Roberts) a girl who seems to see the world the same way that he does, but complications arise when he has to define how he really feels about her. Check out the trailer below. This would be a really great trailer if it were just a minute shorter. Instead, it's basically a short film: he starts out a misfit, he has trouble in art, meets a girl, they get along, he gets confused, his best friend starts taking an interest, he and the girl start fighting, his art becomes inspired, they kiss at the end. How is that not a full movie? What is this trailer not giving away? I hope there's still some surprises left, but I can't imagine what they'd be. |
