Friends With Benefits To Get Busy On Blu-Ray In December![]()
Though its scandalous title garnered some undisguised disgust from certain audiences, Sony Pictures' Friends With Benefits was actually one of this summers nicest little rom coms. Starring Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis and featuring Patricia Clarkson, Jenna Elfman, Woody Harrelson, and Richard Jenkins, the movie told the story of two friends who are both getting over exes and who decided to sleep together without any romantic involvement. Friends with Benefits pulled in $55 million domestically and another $42 million in the foreign market on a $35 million budget
Which isn’t too shabby, considering neither lead is at the apex of his or her career. Don’t get me wrong, Timberlake is definitely an A-list celebrity, so that may have helped bolster attendance somewhat. Either way, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has created some pretty cool stuff for its Friends with Benefits release. First, a regular Blu-Ray will be available, but a Blu-Ray combo pack featuring Sony’s new addition, an ultraviolet digital copy, will be included. As far as bonus features go, commentary will come with the release from director Will Gluck, Timberlake, and Kunis. Deleted scenes and outtakes will also be available, along with an “On the Set” featurette and a second featurette about the flash mob scene in the film. A “Pop Up Trivia” track will round out the extras. If you want to catch Timberlake fulfill his dream of playing Woody Harrelson in basketball – apparently the love for White Men Can’t Jump never dies – Friends with Benefits will be available on Blu-Ray and DVD on December 2, just in time for the holidays. |
