Elijah Wood has gone Euro! He's really been making some smart choices since Lord of the Rings, unlike some of his other co-stars who jumped at high profile projects and then vanished (cough*Viggo*cough). Instead, Elijah seems happy taking supporting roles, or doing smaller indie and foreign movies.

This year he's showing up in two European flicks which couldn't possibly be more different. The first is Hooligans, also known as Green Street CB's own Stefanie Jackowitz covered it here for us earlier his year, and really loved it. Now it's finally getting a decent American release, instead of just a quick trip around the festival circuit. In it, Elijah plays an American who ends up part of a vicious, English gang of Soccer Hooligans. Bottle smashing commences. Watch the trailer below:

The second is something much more delicate. It's called Everything is Illuminated, and finds Elijah journeying to Europe to uncover his roots… and walk through fields of really pretty flowers. Judaism is also involved. Glib descriptions aside, I'm really looking forward to this one, I love Elijah's "Howdy Doody" look. Watch the Everything is Illuminated trailer below.
