Frozen Will Thaw Hearts On Blu-ray In March

You’ll want to grab a blanket and a cup of cocoa before you jump into Disney’s latest release. The Mouse House announced its latest title on Friday, giving fans pretty advanced notice about the release of Frozen. The animated musical will hit Blu-ray, DVD and On Demand on March 18, but if you are a fan of Digital copies, Frozen is getting an even earlier release, hitting Digital HD and Digital 3D on February 25.

Frozen Blu-ray Combo pack

If you haven’t gotten the chance to see Disney’s latest charmer, yet, Frozen tells a story that’s a little outside-the-box for the animation company. Sure, there are handsome princes, angelic-looking princesses, and even a castle, but at its heart, Frozen is less about romantic match-ups and more about two sisters learning to love one another and get along. After adding in a sprinkle of fabulous comedic voicework by Josh Gad and a few lovely musical numbers, including the now-famous "Let it Go," Disney has found an extremely lucrative recipe. The film made over three hundred million dollars domestically and then more than doubled that money worldwide. No doubt the company is hoping to add a lot to that total with its home entertainment marketing efforts, and Disney has put together a nice-looking Blu-ray combo pack and more for the release.

Walt Disney Home Entertainment has also released the extras for the set, and there will be quite a few bonus features for Blu-ray combo pack purchasers. This is a move in the right direction for the company, as buyers frequently have had to purchase Blu-ray 3D copies in order to get all of the extras in the past, much to the chagrin of non-3D TV owners. DVD buyers look as if they will be getting the short end of the stick, while Digital copies will also sport a healthy number of extras. With the latter, it should be noted that different Digital retailers will offer different bonus features. While that might be a disappointing marketing move for some, it may not matter to those who are less interested in extras. You can check out the full list of offerings, below, or pre-order the Blu-ray combo pack over at Amazon.
