Yesterday we had a sneak peek at the new man versus gods movie Immortals, now we have the whole mythological enchilada in the form of the first, full, high-res Immortals trailer.

The film stars future Superman Henry Cavill opposite the likes of Stephen Dorff, Luke Evans, Isabel Lucas, Kellan Lutz, John Hurt, and Mickey Rourke in the story of a rampaging bloodthirsty king in pursuit of a legendary Bow which he believes will make him so invincible he’ll be able to overthrown the Gods of Olympus. Theseus, played by Cavill, stands in his way.

Watch the first trailer right here:

There’s more imagination in the two minutes and fourteen seconds of this Immortals trailer than there is in the entire running time of the similarly themed, cinematic disaster Clash of the Titans. To be sure, a lot of what we just saw seems to owe at least some debt to Zack Snyder’s 300, but here’s the thing about 300: It hasn’t really inspired any other copycats. Even Zack Snyder has moved on to using slow motion in different ways. It’s not like we’ve seen enough of that sweet, 300, sharp contrast color palatte to be burned out on it. Besides this is far from a copycat, director Tarsem Singh is a proven visual master in his own right, and he’s clearly putting his own spin on it. It’s more like 300 meets The Fall. The results could be incredible.

I loved what I just saw. What about you? If this trailer got you excited about Immortals, let me know in the comments.
