It’s still pretty uncertain whether Terminator 4 will ever actually happen, but if it does there’s a weird rumor going around about who might be playing John Connor. AICN says it’s Edward Furlong.

Furlong of course played a teenage John Connor in Terminator 2. In Terminator 3 and adult John Connor was played by Nick Stahl. Terminator 4, should it ever happen, will pick up where T3 left off, with John Connor trapped in a bunker. So if this is true, John Connor walks into the bunker as Nick Stahl and walks out as Edward Furlong. That’s some hellacious radiation.

In all likelihood, this is a rumor with no substance. AICN offers no corroboration for it or even any reason for us to believe it. It’s just a random email they received and threw up on their site because, well, it’s AICN. It would be beyond weird to have Eddie jump back into the role at this point, unless for some reason they just can’t get Nick Stahl… which I seriously doubt. It’s not like Nick Stahl is all that busy. Besides, isn’t Furlong supposed to be kind of a mess? Isn’t that why they hired Stahl in the first place?
