Galifianakis Could Star In The Incredible Mr. Limpet![]()
Zach Galifianakis has never been the kind of guy to do something, how do I put this, oh yeah normal. This guy spiked his friend’s drinks with roofies in The Hangover, danced around in tights for his standup comedy routine and repeatedly offends guests on Between Two Ferns With Zach Galifianakis. Screw it, the guy is just strange. Funny as hell, but strange. Now he might get the chance to play a fish that fights the Nazis. Like I said, strange.
According to The L.A. Times Galifianakis is in the lead to star in a remake of The Incredible Mr. Limpet. The story centers on Limpet, a real guy, who turns into a cartoon fish and uses a noise to cause havoc with underwater equipment. This new power enables him to help the US Navy crush the Nazi submarine fleet. Don Knotts starred in the original as both Limpet and the voice of his fish alter-ego. Dare I say, this is right up Galifianakis’s oddball alley? Normally, I would think this movie had the feel of something just too off the wall to work on the big screen again (assuming it worked the first time), but the comedian could be just the guy to do it. His deadpan use of the inane and almost refusal to let everyone else in on the joke (he’s just kidding around right?) could make a story about a World War II saving cartoon fish something worth seeing. |
