Watchmen will be the first movie to take on the notion of superheroes being in league with the government, and that it might not necessarily be a good thing. But Zack Snyder and company won't have the stranglehold on the idea for long. Valhalla Motion Pictures has secured the rights to Gearhead, a graphic novel about a woman who must fight against superheroes, who have become corrupt as they've governed the United States.

Latino Review received a press release saying that producer Gale Anne Hurd and Valhalla, who were most recently responsible for The Incredible Hulk, have taken on Gearhead. Hurd has also produced hits like Terminator, Aliens and Armageddon, but then again, she brought the world Aeon Flux and Terminator 3. The producer is no guarantee that Gearhead will be good or bad, but it's at least worth looking forward to a movie that takes another unique spin on superheroes.
