Gibson's Crime Drama Picked Up By Warner Bros.![]()
Mel Gibson hasn't used his talents as an actor much lately, focusing on directing movies in impossible-to-understand languages, but we'll see him onscreen again pretty soon, thanks to Warner Bros. The studio has picked up the film Edge of Darkness, according to Variety, featuring Gibson as a veteran Boston homicide detective whose child is murdered.
The film shot last year, with Ray Winstone, Danny Huston and Shawn Roberts co-starring. it'd be nice for this to be some kind of comeback for Gibson, reminding us that his skills as an actor were beloved long before he talked up the passion of the Christ. Boston crime dramas are on a winning streak these days (The Departed, Gone Baby Gone), and maybe Gibson can keep it going. |
