Gina Carano Kicks Some Ass In New Haywire Trailer

Though the movie isn't out for another two months, I can say with full confidence that audiences will have a blast with Steven Soderbergh's Haywire. This week I was present for the world premiere screening at AFI Fest, and, as I noted in my review, it isn't the most original upcoming film, but it is a rollicking good time at the movies. It has a fully loaded cast, some incredible fight sequences, great turns by Ewan McGregor, Michael Douglas and Antonio Banderas and...you know what? I'll just let the trailer speak for itself.

EW has posted the second domestic preview for Haywire, which you can check out over at their site (sorry, but they don't have a working embed player).

Back from watching? Good. I have to admit: I really like the bait-and-switch at the beginning of this trailer. It does give me pause that they show off so much of the action in the trailer, but then I remember how incredibly detailed and extended the fight scenes are and I really don't mind. The truth is that unless Relativity Media starts pumping out three minute clips featuring the fight scenes this movie will go unspoiled, and even if they do there's always the joy of watching some kick-ass action up on the big screen.

Haywire stars Gina Carano as Mallory Kane, a black ops agent set up by her own handlers. Managing to survive, she begins a mission of revenge, going after every single person that had a hand in orchestrating the trick operation. The movie hits theaters on January 20th, 2012.
