Giovanni Ribisi Reunites With Seth MacFarlane For A Million Ways To Die In The West

Giovanni Ribisi and Seth MacFarlane proved that they worked together well on Ted, the actor playing the creepy, Ted-obsessed dad who enjoys dancing to Tiffany's "I Think We're Alone Now," and hopefully they'll be able to bring that same connection to MacFarlane's A Million Ways To Die In The West.

Deadline has learned that Ribisi is the latest actor to join the cast of the new comedy western, which is already set to star Charlize Theron, Amanda Seyfried and MacFarlane in his first live-action starring role. Written by the director and co-writers Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild, the story centers on a weak-willed sheep farmer named Albert (MacFarlane) who is dumped by his girlfriend (Seyfried) after chickening out of a duel. Leaving town on a mission to become a man and when back her heart, he meets the wife of an outlaw (Theron) who teaches him how to shoot.

The site says that Ribisi will play Albert's friend Edward, "a simple shoe repairman who bears up with a girlfriend who won’t have sex with him, but as a working prostitute she’s doing it with everybody else." He has a side plot with the star in which Albert tries to get Edward into the dating scene.

Ribisi most recently starred in Ruben Fleischer's Gangster Squad and will appear alongside Chris Evans, Aubrey Plaza, Michelle Monaghan, Topher Grace, Luke Wilson and many more in Justin Reardon's A Many Splintered Thing later this year. He is currently filming the Shane Christian Eason-directed drama Papa with Sharon Stone and Minka Kelly.
