Go Behind The Scenes Of Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes With A New Featurette
While I will admit to initially having doubts about the project, the buzz surrounding Rise of the Planet of the Apes is incredible. Reviews have already started popping up around the internet and the film is receiving near universal praise. At the center of it all is the work done by Weta Digital and star Andy Serkis, both of whom are actually starting to get Oscar buzz for their work on the film. Now Fox has released a behind-the-scenes featurette focusing on the creation of the mind-blowing effects.
Featuring interviews with director Rupert Wyatt, Andy Serkis and members of the Weta team, the video is a short but terrific look at the process behind the motion capture and explores the difficulty of working in live-action environments. My favorite bit, however, is when they show Andy Serkis' performance next to the completed cut. It's truly incredible how Serkis is just able to morph into a completely different species and its clear that it really is him under all that digital makeup. Check out the featurette below. |
