About two weeks ago we told you about Tim Burton stepping off of Ripley’s Believe It Or Not!, the Jim Carrey starring vehicle about explorer Robert Ripley’s search for a lost tribe. Burton’s departure was another setback for a movie that already had experienced several problems and seemed rather sudden, with no real explanation given.
It’s been a couple of weeks with no real word as to what’s happening with the movie that was slated to begin production this winter, but filmick thinks it has the inside track on who is being courted to take the reigns. If their anonymous source is correct, Ripley will reunite the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind team of Jim Carrey and director Michel Gondry.
Gondry and Carrey have proven to be quite good together, although the description of this movie still brings a more Burton tone to mind than that of Gondry. Still, the site claims to have a good track record with this source and Gondry rumors, so I guess we’ll see.
