If they made it, John Goodman and Joan Cusack would have a daughter who looked like Isla Fisher. Or at least that’s the idea behind casting Goodman and Cusack in Fisher’s new movie Confessions of a Shopaholic. Variety says they’re playing her parents.
The PJ Hogan directed movie has Isla playing a woman trying to deal with credit card debt while making her way through the New York magazine world. It sounds a lot like The Devil Wears Prada, but set in the sagging economy of modern America. Of course by the time the movie comes out Barack Obama will be president and all our economic woes will vanish along with out international ones. Or at least that’s what I’m hoping for. It’s worth a shot.
