David Goyer is only writing the upcoming Flash flick, and thus probably has no real say in who gets cast as the speedster, but he’s telling everyone who he wants in the role anyway.

In an interview with Moviehole, Goyer revealed that he’ll be using the character of Wally West as his Flash, and what’s more he thinks his Blade: Trinity star Ryan Reynolds is the man for the job.

When asked for comment, Reynolds said that he’s not exactly an A list star and he has to take anything that’ll give him a starring role and a paycheck, or something like that. Also, he kind of likes the Flash and thinks he’s “fucking mind-boggling”.

This really isn’t a bad idea. Reynolds was great in Blade: Trinity even if his character didn’t fit in the movie. He has the right kind of physique for The Flash and he definitely has the right kind of wit. Throw some lightning bolts on his ears and lets get filming!
