The first official trailer for Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s team up project Grindhouse is here, and hell if it doesn’t look hella cool. There’s a lot of hell in that sentence, but then that’s what Robert and Quentin are bringing. Old school pulp hell.

The trailer makes their double feature movie look like the way we always imagine pulp cinema to be in our heads, even though it never seems to quite play out in practice. Well now it has. I don’t know if Grindhouse will have any sort of mass appeal, but it has me appeal, way more than it had back when it was first described as nothing more than a bloodbath. This isn’t just a bloodbath, this is the epitome of cool. In fact, the trailer barely even scratched the gore factor. But this is Tarantino and Rodriguez, you gore-hounds have nothing to fear. You can’t show what they’ll show in a trailer.
