While we continue to wait anxiously for a Goonies sequel, when we finally get to find out just how much Data turned out like his dad, Semi-Pro director Kent Alterman has something else to tide us over. He's developing the comedy Treehouse Gang at Warner Bros., and in their typical method of getting our hopes up, The Hollywood Reporter says it's being described as a grown-up version of The Goonies.
While something that wonderful doesn't actually seem possible, the premise sounds pretty spot-on: a group of childhood friends get back together when they're in their 20s to hunt down a treasure. Treasure hunting! How can that possibly go wrong? Alterman will be adapting the script by by Timothy Dowling.
