It's a shame that Clark Gregg's Choke didn't come out in 2011, because apparently sex addiction movies are now all the rage. Steve McQueen's Shame recently played at the Venice Film Festival, earning a ton of praise for leads Michael Fassbender and Carey Mulligan, and now Thanks For Sharing, a new film written and directed by The Kids Are All Right scribe Stuart Blumberg, has added two top-tier actresses to its already impressive cast.

Via Variety, Gwyneth Paltrow and Joely Richardson are now both set to work alongside Mark Ruffalo and Tim Robbins in the dramatic comedy. The plot centers on a group of friends who try and overcome their sex addictions by having meaningful relationships. Paltrow will play the love interest for Ruffalo's character, a business woman named Phoebe, while Richardson will play Tim Robbins' wife, Katie. Production is scheduled to begin this month in New York City.

While I don't think it means anything, I do think that it's a funny coincidence that both Paltrow and Richardson are the daughters of actresses, namely Blythe Danner and Vanessa Redgrave. While this project does sound interesting, it does leave me with a question: if Tim Robbins' character is married, how does he fit into the plot description? I'm fairly certain that most women won't marry a guy unless they are already in a "meaningful relationship." Also, considering that the plot is about a "group" of friends and not a "pair" of friends, we can probably expect some more casting announcements for this project in the next couple weeks.
