The most annoying movie teaser of the year is here, and it just managed to get in under the 2006 wire. It’s the first ever teaser trailer for the new movie musical version of Hairspray with John Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken, and a lot of other whom the trailer will list for you when you watch it.

That’s right, it’s a listing trailer. Some movies use lame logo teasers, Hairspray has decided to go with a cast list. Watching the teaser is kind of like looking at IMDB’s cast list page, only set to music and displayed in bright, annoying, CGI’d colors. They’d have been better off simply slapping a pic of Chis Walken in drag up on screen. This is the kind of teaser that not only doesn’t make me want to see the movie, it makes me want to hate it. Let’s hope they’ll have the good sense to never show this in theaters.
