The Hangover Part III Won't Involve A Wedding
Fans had a lot of problems with The Hangover Part II, but nothing seemed to bother people more than how similar the plot was to the original. It was the exact same outline, only forty percent as funny and lacking in freshness. Luckily, it seems Todd Phillips and company were listening to all the Internet bitching because the plot summary for the next film has been released, and while it offers almost nothing in the way of clarity, it does make it clear we’re in for something new, something that doesn’t involve a wedding.
Here’s a look at the official synopsis…
”This time, there’s no wedding. No bachelor party. What could go wrong, right? But when the Wolfpack hits the road, all bets are off.”
The first film took place in Las Vegas and the second headed to Thailand. We haven’t been given a location for round three, but based on the above description, I’m hoping we might get a road trip movie. It would be a really convenient way to incorporate wacky side elements while still keeping a central goal in mind. Given the repulsive shit these men have gotten up to thus far, its exciting to think what debauchery they could wind up walking into, but until we’re given something a little more concrete than that three sentence blurb, it’s probably foolish to speculate.
The Hangover Part III is scheduled to be released on May 24, 2013. The film will reunite almost all of the faces who have played a major role in the series, as well as introduce John Goodman. With a few years to hammer out the details, plenty of talent involved and an idea of where the second installment went wrong, there’s reason to hope the final chapter will leave us laughing.
