Hannibal Lecter is no stranger to the Hollywood folklore. Now it seems he is indeed returning for another dose of liver, fava beans, and chianti.

Thomas Harris scribed the three books in which the films Red Dragon, The Silence of the Lambs, and Hannibal are based on. It seems he just can’t seem to get the cannibal out of his head. Harris is said to start penning a prequel book entitled Behind the Mask. With a new Lecter book about to be written it took producer Dino DeLaurentiis almost no time to snatch up the film rights.

So sometime in the next two or three years look for the Anthony Hopkins-less Lecter flick Behind the Mask.
