Harry Lennix Joins The Man Of Steel Cast As Yet Another General![]()
I'm beginning to wonder if the good folks behind the next Superman movie, Man of Steel, are aware that there are multiple high-ranking positions in the military. The film already has two generals, the first being General Zod, set to be played by the awesome Michael Shannon, while the second doesn't yet have a name, but will be played by the equally awesome Christopher Meloni. Now Harry Lennix has joined the cast, so why don't you quickly guess what role he will be playing?
Variety reports that Lennix will be playing Man of Steel's third general. A veteran actor in both television and film, Lennix is best known for playing Commander Lock, the leader of military forces on Zion, in the Matrix sequels. Set to begin production this summer, the film is currently targeting a release date in December 2012, though nothing has been made official as of yet. In addition to Lennix, Meloni and Shannon, the all-star cast includes Henry Cavill (as Superman), Amy Adams (as Lois Lane), Kevin Costner (as Jonathan Kent), Diane Lane (as Martha Kent), Russell Crowe (as Jor-El), Julie Ormond (as Lara) and Antje Traue (as Faora). The film will be directed by Zack Snyder based on a script by David S. Goyer. Given that Christopher Nolan is "Godfathering" the project it's not a surprise that we haven't learned much about the film's plot yet, but the number of known faces playing military personnel is certainly interesting. Hopefully it's indicative of more action scenes, which, after Superman Returns, would be much appreciated. |
