Harry Potter Branches Out![]()
Tired of only getting to perform next to the lovely and enchanting Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe has taken on a role in a movie about a bunch of boys. OK, maybe that's not totally fair. After all, if Daniel is interested in being something besides "the guy who played Harry Potter" he was going to have to branch out at some point, and it's not like he can play Batman.
Hollywood Reporter reveals that Radcliffe's new project is an adaptation of Michael Noonan's "December Boys", a sort of Stand by Me only with orphan boys competing for the chance to be adopted. No word yet on which role Radcliffe will be playing, but it stands to reason it will be one of the four boys. Also attached are director Rod Hardy, best known for his work on televisions "The Practice" and producer Richard Beeker. The screenplay was adapted by Marc Rosenberg, who hasn't written anything notable (unless you really liked Serpent's Lair) and hasn't had anything to do with mainstream movies in over ten years. I can't decide if that makes him out-of-the-loop or fresh-back-in-the-game. For Dan's sake, I hope it's the latter. |
