This past weekend a viral video began to circulate featuring a bunch of superheroes in a bar congratulating Green Lantern on his upcoming movie adaptation. Then the night is subsequently ruined when Hawkman, a severely outdated DC character shows up and starts asking if his "friends" can set him up with a deal of his own. While Hawkman was the butt of the joke in the video, he really could have been substituted for any of the less-popular superhero characters that aren't really well known/good enough to have their own movie. That said, this bit of news couldn't have come at a worse time.

It's On The Grid (via Badass Digest) has learned that Warner Bros. has put a Hawkman movie into development and is currently searching for writers to take care of the script. One of the earliest comic book characters - making his debut in 1940 - the best known version of the superhero is archeologist Carter Hall, the reincarnation of Khufu, an Egyptian prince. After discovering a metal that allows him to negate gravity and fly, he constructs a set of wings and sets out to protect the world from evil.

I could write thousands of words on why this is a dumb idea, but the truth is that the aforementioned video really says everything that needs to be said. Check it out below.
