Heart-Pounding First 8 Minutes Of The Hurt Locker![]()
I'm going to make a guess and assume you haven't seen The Hurt Locker, Kathryn Bigelow's action-packed new drama that most everyone is praising as being an Iraq war movie that you'll actually want to watch, simultaneously entertaining and important in a bigger sense.
So why would I assume you, dear Cinema Blend readers, are so ignorant that you haven't seen one of the most acclaimed movies of the year? Because for some reason Summit Entertainment opened the film in about two theaters against Transformers 2, and the movie is taking its sweet time winding its way through larger moviegoing markets. It may never make it to your hometown theater at all, which would truly be a shame. But if you live near a major city and like good movies, you should most definitely be seeing The Hurt Locker soon. Need another reason? Check out the first 8 minutes of the film below, snagged by Trailer Addict. There are no spoilers in it at all, just a tense action sequence that gives a great sense of what Bigelow does with the rest of the film. The slow release pattern and lack of stars may suggest that The Hurt Locker is some meditative indie, but it's much more interested in being a slamming action picture with an actual thought in its brain. Watch the 8 minutes below, and know your movie ticket will be well spent. |
