Hellboy Is Finished After Number 3![]()
Even before he started in on Hellboy II, director Guillermo Del Toro talked about how keen he was to do a third Hellboy movie. Now though, it looks like his interest in demonic superheroes ends right there.
Talking to SciFi, not only does Del Toro say he doesn’t want to do a fourth, but he indicates that he’d only do a third movie on the condition that there are no more movies after it. “No prequels and no sequels: nothing,” he says. Apparently he’s seen some of George Lucas’s movies. There’s something to be said for quitting while you’re ahead. Of course first Del Toro has to get ahead. The first Hellboy movie only scratched the surface of the characters potential. He’ll have to deliver on that potential in the second film, before we bother worrying about if we want to see the character again. Once we do get around to wanting a third Hellboy movie (and let’s face it he’s awesome… we will), Del Toro is promising Nazis. You can’t really go wrong with beating up Nazis. If anyone deserves a punch in the groin from Hellboy’s right hand of doom, it’s Hitler. |
