There’s no denying the popularity of High School Musical. The made-for-TV musical’s success has led to a second made-for-TV movie, an attraction at the Disney parks, and even plans for a theatrical third chapter. Earlier this year it was announced that High School Musical 3 would hit big screens instead of the little one, and would center around the kids’ adventure in a haunted house. The title: Haunted High School Musical. That doesn’t seem to be the case anymore, however.
TV Guide has announced that plans for a third High School Musical have changed. No, this isn’t because the second telefilm didn’t quite live up to the first one, and no you’re not getting out of going to theaters. There will still be a High School Movie theatrical experience for families to both enjoy and suffer through. It just won’t be about a haunted house.
Instead High School Musical 3 will center around “the fast-growing ‘kids’ senior year.” Presumably this will include senior prom and graduation, and will probably see the kids going their separate ways at the movie closes… unless they go off to college together, in which case we can expect “College Musical” in just a few years. And, this is Disney, who loves to milk a franchise to death, so I would expect to see exactly that happen.

i beg you to make haunted high school musical.it will make nearly everyone in the world want to see it since everyone loves scary movies and it would be great if you could do a concert in london because i've never been to a concert before...i know,im really weard because my parents arent rich enough or whatever all of them snobby girls think...oh sorry!im only meant to write a comment not a diary SORRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:(

Hooray for Disney coming to it's senses and nixing the ridiculous "Haunted High School Musical" idea! Maybe on down the line for Direct to DVD or the Disney Channel, once the current stars have moved on they can make it haunted, but the "new" plan is what has to come next -- and hopefully Disney will pay the kids what they deserve.

I really think that the high school musical movie should be hanted because I really love hanted shows. My family and I love watching hanted shows so if you do make it a hanted show we would watch it even more. So please make it a hanted show. Thank You.
I would like it to be haunted high school musical, but the sounds of seeing the east high gang going to prom and graduation then going their seperate ways sounds way cool too. as long as it has all the same talented actors in it then im sure it will be a sucess. it may not be quite as good as the first one, but thats ok most things arent, but should be an excellent experience to see a dcom go from the small screen to the big screen. thats saying something
i think high school musical is the stupidest thing i have ever seen any one that follows or watches it are a group of losers... not only that but it is nothing like high school get a life
