Anything likened to The Wackness is going to catch my attention and that’s exactly what HIGH School is being connected to. The film marks John Stalberg’s directorial debut and is set to bow at the Sundance Film Festival in the Park City at Midnight category. If you know anything about The Wackness or can take a hint from Stalberg’s film’s title, you’ve probably already figured out the plot’s got something to do with weed.

Henry Burke (Matt Bush) is a model student. He’s been named the school valedictorian and nabbed a college scholarship, so what’s wrong with trying a little marijuana? Perhaps the fact that the principal (Michael Chiklis) decides this would be the perfect time to institute mandatory drugs tests for the entire student body. In an effort not to get caught himself, Henry teams up with the school pothead, Travis Breaux (Sean Marquette), to get the whole school high.

Bush was a riot as Frigo in Adventureland and I can’t wait to see what he’s capable of in a leading role. With a cast including Chiklis, Colin Hanks, Adrien Brody and Michael Vartan, he’s got a solid group of actors watching his back and a gallery of over 30 images to prove it.
