After making a name for herself by playing tough women -- and winning Oscars for her efforts-- Hilary Swank seemed to decide last year that it was time to take a break and make out with Gerard Butler for a while. No one really begrudged her the vacation, and P.S. I Love You was a minor hit. Then she seemed to get back on track, set to star in an Amelia Earhart biopic, and, let's face it, snag like 5 Oscars in the process.

But no, oh no, Swank will not settle for one trip to the derivative romantic comedy pool. She and her producing partner Molly Smith have acquired the rights to Something Borrowed, and the title alone tells you what kind of book this is. Variety says they'll develop it as a potential starring vehicle for Swank, but that pretty much means "Hilary Swank in Something Borrowed, December 2010."

And that's not it. The deal also includes the right to the sequel, which is titled... wait for it... Something Blue. I guess that's all of the books, because Something New was already a movie, and Something Old is on hold for the Larry King story.

Hilary, won't you end this madness? Isn't cuddling with Gerard Butler enough for you? Given that you've won two more Oscars than Kate Winslet, you'd think by now you'd have figured out a way to play a role that isn't "tough girl" or "awkwardly shoehorned into this love story." I guess it's only a matter of time before we see the combination of the two-- Race to the Altar, about a tough-as-nails Nascar driver who falls for her pit mechanic! Or maybe Tax Hike, about an earthy hiking expert who marries a stuffy tax accountant. Hilarity, obviously, ensues.
