Hillary Clinton Rejects Jason Segel's Co-star Offer Like A Pro

Jason Segel has had some solidly sassy scene partners over the course of his comedy career, from The Five-Year Engagement's Emily Blunt to How I Met Your Mother's Alyson Hannigan to The Muppets's Amy Adams and Forgetting Sarah Marshall's Mila Kunis and Kristen Bell. But asked who he'd most like to share the screen with next, the ever-joshing Segel gave US Weekly an unexpected answer: Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. He explained, "I just feel like she would be good at comedy. I think you can feel it from a mile away."

First off, Jason, I feel you.

Secondly, the tech-savvy Clinton proved him right, responding to his request with a wry, rejection rejoinder, which you can see below, courtesy of Politico:

Okay, I fully realize this is a joke, but man, would I love for some weird aspect of this to come true! Either Clinton making a Muppets 2 cameo—even though Segel has asserted he's out of the sequel—or better yet, the pair of them play a bit part as a lusty, May-December couple in one of Judd Apatow's upcoming rom-coms! It seems impossible to imagine Clinton being able to fit such a thing in her schedule anytime soon, but I can't help but dream of a scenario where she gets to let her hair down and get her goof on. For one thing, I love when we are offered more from our politicians than stump speeches, and for another, I bet Hillary would knock a comedy cameo out of the park!

For now, Segel is laughing off the possibility, telling Jimmy Fallon, she's "busy doing politics," but we can dream! We can dream…
