Two days ago the first trailer for The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug hit the web, and soon youtube was flooded with reaction vids from fans totally overwhelmed by this promising look into the next chapter of Bilbo's adventure. And it appears the internet is endlessly giving as the reaction vid from the Happy Hobbit webseries has made it all the way to Middle Earth. Well, more accurately it made it all the way to New Zealand, where Peter Jackson and his cast are currently in the middle of reshoots. Not only did Jackson and his stars watch the reaction, they posted a reaction to this reaction.

Jackson himself shared the vid above on his Facebook page with the caption:
"And here's what I guess you'd call a sequel to that fan video.

Enjoy!

Cheers,

Peter J"

It features Lee Pace, Orlando Bloom, and Evangeline Lilly in costume as elves Thranduil, Legolas, and Tauriel watching the Happy Hobbit hosts' reaction with apparent glee. What makes this exchange thoroughly charming is that far from mocking the girls' enthusiasm, these stars reflect it with broad smiles, outbursts of laughter, and captivated delight. Basically, this is not just how we hope movies will make us feel, but how we hope those who make the movies feel about making something worth geeking out over.

And it doesn't stop there. Devout Hobbit fans Alex and Kellie, sisters who call themselves Kili and Fili on their youtube channel, have since posted a response to Jackson and company's response. In the vid, which you can see below, the pair detail how their initial response video came about and share their gratitude for its popularity. "We actually don't live our lives as screaming chicken fangirls," Kellie/Kili explains, "but on those rare occasions behind closed doorsó" "And now virally," Alex/Fili interjects, "That's the way we are." All this is prelude to the reveal of their reaction to seeing Bloom, Lilly, and Pace observe their not-so-private fan freakout, which is spectacular. SFW as they bleeped out their own excited cursing.

Ladies, thanks for sharing your geekouts. We've all been there, it's just most aren't bold enough to post their frantic fandom online.

The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug opens December 13th.
