Dustin Hoffman has been reduced to starring opposite Dax Shepard, which is pretty dismaying when you consider how flat out great the guy was in the weird mess that was I Heart Huckabees. According to The Hollywood Reporter they’ll be battling each other in the upcoming movie Car Wars, not to be confused with the crappily advertised upcoming Pixar movie Cars.

The comedy (With a name like Dax you basically get a choice, comedy or drama and Shepard doesn’t have the legs for Star Trek) features Hoffman and Shepard as rival car dealers. Shepard steals all of the business from Hoffman’s snooty Mercedes dealership, perhaps by leaving flaming bags of poo on Dustin’s doorstep. However, the pair put all that aside quickly and befriend each other, which means the last sixty minutes of the film will be pretty boring, filled with golf at the country club and relaxing dinners with the family.
