Holmes Dumped![]()
How often do you get to credit ESPN for a movie industry story? While watching/listening to the “Mike and Mike Morning Show,” Mike Golic read some news about Katie Holmes’s involvement in the proposed sequel for Batman Begins. (After some research, I think the original story appeared in the New York Post). Take the following as a loose rumor.
Warner Brothers execs are excited about the early results and critical acclaim for Begins. A source told the columnist for “Page Six Gossip” that, “Everyone is in agreement that the movie's strength is with Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman.” I would add Gary Oldman to that list but I digress. It’s nice to see that apparently all of the actors are signed up for the sequel. When the source was questioned about Katie Holmes, he/she said "She won't be in the sequel... the next romantic interest will be a much stronger actress….Warner is happy that people are now focusing on who'll be playing the JOKER rather than Katie and Tom." Wow, somebody’s a little miffed about the Tom/Katie World Tour. I wonder if this is actually a reaction to all her publicity or just something planned all along. Previous Batman movies changed girls in every movie. I don’t think a love story is integral to Batman. With Spider-man Peter Parker’s love of Mary Jane is very important, but we want Bruce Wayne to bed as many women as possible.
