Hoodwinked Gets Sequel![]()
For all of you who decided to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day by seeing Hoodwinked, Little Red Robin Hood thanks you. While the movie only hit third place over the past weekend, that fourth day made a huge difference, escalating the film to first place with an additional four million dollars. It also guaranteed the animated film a sequel, as announced in Variety.
According to The Weinstein Company, the sequel will see a doubled budget and that talks began with headlining star Anne Hathaway to return for the sequel which is tentatively titled Hood vs. Evil. The storyline will see Little Red training with a covert group called the Sisters of the Hood and then sent out by the Happily Ever After Agency to investigate the disappearance of Hansel and Gretel. The hope is to have other characters from the first movie return, as well as the addition of new characters. If all goes well for the Weinsteins, Hoodwinked could be the first film in yet another Hollywood trilogy of movies. Leading fairy tale parodist Shrek was unavailable for comment. |
