Bill S. Preston, Esq. was iconic figure for a few years there, but who knew he’s been working this whole time as opposed to falling off the face of the earth in protest of the unreasonable career success that Ted has had? Alex Winter, the Bill to Keanu Reeves’ Ted, has not only been writing and even directing, but now he’s teaming up with Howard Stern to make the one movie capable of scandalizing what remains of punk rock.
Winter will write and Stern will produce a remake of Rock n’ Roll High School, the 1979 movie that featured the Ramones helping a bunch of high school kids fight back against their principal—y’know, fighting for the right to party seven years before the Beastie Boys demanded it. "This movie seemed so ripe for a remake,” Winter told Variety, making the remaining Ramones shudder in the process. It’s not like Rock n’ Roll High School is a 70s classic on par with Jaws, that everyone would remember fondly. But for the fans, especially the die-hard punk fans, this is probably a hard pill to swallow. Don’t let us down, Bill! Maybe Keanu will show up in a phone booth to give you some advice.
