Hugh Jackman Looks Back With Anger In New Still From The Wolverine
I have a confession to make: as big a comic book fan as I am, I find myself occasionally forgetting that James Mangold's The Wolverine is coming out this summer. While I certainly am excited for the film - largely due to it's director and the fact that it's based on one of the best storylines ever written for the character - the fact that we haven't seen a trailer yet mixed with all of the big news about X-Men: Days of Future Past has pushed the movie to the back of my mind.
But already my forgetfulness is starting to wane. Mangold has promised that the first trailer for The Wolverine is set to premiere at the end of next month and today, to help make the wait just a little bit less painful, the film's official Facebook account has debuted a brand new still. Check it out below and click to see it in high-res!
Set after the events of X-Men: The Last Stand, The Wolverine takes the titular clawed mutant (Hugh Jackman) to Japan where he is trained as a samurai and must not only face external life-or-death struggles, but also internal conflicts with his own immortality. Will Yun Lee will co-star as villain Kenuichio Harada (a.k.a. Silver Samurai), a character who has the ability to channel mutant energy into a sword allowing it to cut through anything. The movie will be in theaters July 26th and in the meantime you can head over to our Blend Film Database where you'll find stills, posters, news updates and more.
