Hulk Script Sounds Incredible![]()
It’s important to remember that The Incredible Hulk is not a sequel to Ang Lee’s The Hulk movie from 2003. Despite the fact that this movie is pretty much picking up where that picture left off, and is in no way an origin story, Marvel keeps promoting this as an independent picture.
Regardless of whether the two movies are related, the word is that the new movie has a pretty good chance of being a decent movie. IESB has gotten their hands on a draft of Edward Norton’s script for the movie (remember, he did rewrites on the project) and they say that Norton gets the character and how to present the story, starting with putting the Hulk in the audience’s face early on in the movie (instead of waiting for the 40 minute mark). They promise a more thorough script review, but what they have up right now is very promising and spoilerific. There are some changes in how some of the characters evolve from the comic book storylines, but they are decent changes and seem justified. They also say the script has a decent amount of humor in it. Now, humor may not be something you typically associate with the character, but let’s remember Peter David wrote for Hulk for ten years. I’ve never seen the guy go five minutes without a punchline, so I’m sure his Hulk stint had some chuckles. Only head over if you want to know what is planned for the movie. If you want to remain spoilerless, just take comfort in the notion that it sounds like The Incredible Hulk is in the hands of people who seem to know what they are doing, at least from a scripting standpoint.
