I can just imagine the pitch meeting for this movie: “Um… Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall… Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.” That’s right, Humpty Dumpty is headed soon to a theater near you, although it’s not the nursery rhyme story you might be expecting.

Coming from producer Mark Ordesky (Inkheart, The Lord of the Rings trilogy) and director David R. Ellis (Snakes on a Plane) comes Humpty Dumpty, which will be a sci-fi thriller about a human/alien hybrid creature whose mother is abused by two deep south rednecks, leading to a murderous rampage from the creature. Billy Majestic will handle the writing side of the movie, reports Variety.

While the movie may not have anything to do with the egg-constructed hero of the nursery rhyme, you can assume they’ll use some shape or form of the children’s rhyme in their marketing, otherwise they’re missing out on the whole purpose of naming their film that, aren’t they?
