Hunger Games' Liam Hemsworth Romances Teresa Palmer In Love and Honor Trailer

Rising ingendude Liam Hemsworth has clung to the fringe of two of the biggest action-adventures 2012 has churned out so far. First he played Gale, the love interest left behind in the box office record-shattering Hunger Games, and just this month stormed theaters along with action icons like Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham and Chuck Norris as part of the expansive ensemble epic The Expendables 2. But for his next theatrical outing in the Vietnam War drama Love and Honor, he's stepping back into a romantic lead territory that first got him notice in 2010 with The Last Song, which co-starred his now fiancée Miley Cyrus.

In Love and Honor, Hemsworth stars as a Mickey Wright, a soldier committed to fight in the Vietnam War. But when his best friend opts to go AWOL to win back the girl he loves, the loyal Mickey joins him for an unforgettable trip that not only introduces him to sassy hippie Candace (Teresa Palmer), but also to a whole political movement he's absorbed and perplexed by. Take a first look at Love and Honor with its first trailer below:

Inspired by the true story of an unnamed veteran, screenwriters Jim Burnstein (Renaissance Man) and Garrett K. Schiff (Angles in the Infield) developed the screenplay, which was formerly titled AWOL. Actor turned first-time feature filmmaker Danny Mooney directs a cast that includes Friday Night Lights' Aimee Teegarden, The Help's Chris Lowell, and Max Adler, best known as the bullying closeted jock on Glee, to bring together a clearly earnest and heartfelt tale of love and commitment.

Love and Honor has not yet secured a domestic release date.
