It turns out that The Huntsman is being set up as a rather star-studded affair. Joining the previously announced Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron, it has now been confirmed that the movie will be bringing aboard Jessica Chastain, Emily Blunt and Nick Frost (who played the dwarf Nion in the sequel's predecessor, Snow White and the Huntsman).

This news comes from Deadline, which got the scoop on the Jessica Chastain story and confirmed reports from back in January that said Emily Blunt was in talks. There are currently no details available about the role that Chastain will be playing in the movie, but Blunt is said to be playing a very key role. According to previous reports, she will be Charlize Theron’s evil sister and the central villain of the film, The Snow Queen.

The situation with Nick Frost is a bit more tricky. You may remember a story from a few weeks ago that said Frost, Captain America's Toby Jones and Eddie Marsan were walking away from the production of The Huntsman, unable to agree to terms with the folks at Universal Pictures. Deadline says that the executives at the studio were able to work out a deal, and it will allow the actor to reprise his role as Nion in the new movie.

Even though we don't know what kind of role she will be playing in the film, Jessica Chastain is definitely an interesting addition to the Huntsman cast. This now surrounds Chris Hemsworth with three of the best actresses working in Hollywood, and it's interesting that the ensemble is coming together the way it is after Kristen Stewart's Snow White was cut out of the story. It would be easier to pin what Chastain's role could be in the film if we knew any kind of details about the film's plot, but she's a huge plus for any production she becomes a part of.

With a release date scheduled in the first half of next year, production on The Huntsman is surely gearing up to start soon, which means that this won't be the last casting update you read about in the next few weeks. If the film wants to live up to its rather star-studded predecessor, it's going to have to fill the ranks with some more interesting names, and it will be interesting to see who the production reaches out and gets. There certainly must be a lot of actors out there who would look good in the world of a dark fairy tale.

The Huntsman is being directed by first time feature director and Visual Effects Oscar nominee Cedric Nicolas-Troyan, and he will be working with a script written by Frank Darabont. Look for the movie in theaters on April 22, 2016.
