Many of us, including myself, laughed when Walk The Line actor Joaquin Phoenix had a bit of a nervous breakdown at the beginning of last year, grew a ridiculous beard and claimed he was starting a rap career. Once it was revealed that Casey Affleck was making a documentary about it, however, most people brushed the whole thing off as a hoax, thinking that it was an Andy Kaufman-style prank on the entire world. Once the film was picked up by Magnolia, it was figured that we would be in for a Borat-like treat. Judging by the first teaser, that won't be the case.

Yahoo! has posted the first trailer for the film and it looks darker and more dramatic than anyone could have predicted. After all, this is a movie where Phoenix does a line of coke off of a prostitute's chest. What's great about it, though, is that it really draws you in. I, for one, really want to know what happened to Phoenix during this period of his life.
