If you're an idiot, you're upset that Idris Elba will be playing Heimdall in Thor because the character was white in the comic books and Elba is black. If you're a normal, reasonable person, you're excited to see what Elba, a legitimately talented actor, can make of a role in a movie that's looking just a touch silly at this point, what with all the shiny armor and horned helmets and Chris Hemsworth's tough-guy grunting as Thor seen in the latest trailer.

And I'm all the more anxious to see what Elba pulls off having seen the latest image of his character, posted at Marvel.com and also available below. Yes, I'm aware that's a pretty good recreation of what the character looked like in the comic books, but come on-- there is something slightly ridiculous about seeing a human being wear faux-armor that unwieldy. I'm also not sure how I feel about what they're doing to his eyes, wearing contacts that look a lot like the amber eyes you see on Robert Pattinson in the Twilight movies. At least Elba is bringing the badass stance and facial expression we all knew he could-- even if I think his armor looks insane, I definitely would not mess with this dude.
