Illusionist Casting Scoop![]()
According to Reuters, Jessica Biel and Rufus Sewell have joined the cast of Neil Burger's fanciful period piece "The Illusionist." They will accompany Edward Norton and Paul Giamatti.
The film is about a clever magician who tries to use his magical powers to woo a princess away from her prince, and into his bed. The story is set in Vienna at the turn of the century (1900). Filming begins in early April. Biel and Sewell will play the royal counterparts, being influenced by Norton's magic tricks. Biel has been actively trying to get away from her "goody two shoes" image provided by the WB's "7th Heaven". She is also dead-set on proving she can act, which is up for debate at this point. Sewell is a great British actor who played the lead role in the under-appreciated Dark City. Norton and Giamatti are highly popular masters of their crafts.
