30 Rock has made people like Tracy Morgan. There’s no denying he’s funny, but only in that way it’s funny to laugh at little kids who can’t read. The scary thing is that he’s not even playing a character. Tracy Jordan is Tracy Morgan. So even though he’s sort of funny on the show, he probably won’t be anywhere else. He’s found the perfect situation on Tina Fey’s television sitcom.
Tracy however, doesn’t read this site. If he did, he’d know that he should that when it comes to his movie career he should just give it up. Next month he shows up opposite Ice Cube in a movie called First Sunday where they play bumbling criminals robbing god. Probably a bad move, I hear the almighty takes a dim view of that. I wonder if the Catholic Church will call for a ban. Wait, they only protest movies people might see. Tracy should have gone ahead and made his alter-ego Tracy Jordan’s Thomas Jefferson movie instead. Now that was a good idea.
Sony has just sent us a big batch of first stills from the film. Click the thumbnails below to see Tracy Morgan and Ice Cube screw up at armed robbery:
