“Rocknrolla,” in addition to being the title of the new Guy Ritchie film, seems to be one of those hip slang words that the Brits use and don’t make any sense to Americans. But based on how many times the word is mentioned in the trailer—which you can find here, it refers to just the kind of gun-slinging bad boy Guy Ritchie has made a career depicting.
With a cast including Gerard Butler, Tom Wilkinson and Thandie Newton, Rocknrolla seems worth watching, even if it turns out to be the same Guy Ritchie thing. Now you can check out the first poster and four images from the movie to judge for yourself. The poster fits with the graphic style seen in the trailer—kind of funky, kind of gritty, kind of violent. And the images follow through, showing lots of men with guns or at least looking like they wish they had a gun. Just imagine the incomprehensible British and Scottish accents in your head, and you’ll probably get a pretty good idea of what the movie is about.
Rocknrolla comes out in wide release on September 5.
