The first ever trailer for Heath Ledger’s last film and Terry Gilliam’s next, The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus has arrived online. It’s an international trailer and, unfortunately, available only in streaming formats over at Yahoo UK.
Still it’s worth the struggle to see it as Gilliam unveils exactly what he’s been up to all the time. Visually, as everything Terry does, the film looks stunning. It may be his most beautiful work yet. The story is also becoming clearer. Christopher Plummer is Dr. Parnassus, a man who sells his daughter to the devil in exchange for immortality. Heath Ledger, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Ferrell all play the same character, a mysterious figure who joins Parnassus’ traveling show and attempts to save her.
